At present, the vast majority of transformer insulation oil is mineral oil, which has drawbacks such as difficult degradation and non renewability. From the extraction and processing of mineral oil to the final harmless treatment, the entire life cycle of mineral oil is a process of carbon emissions. The source of plant insulation oil comes from various oil crops, and the carbon element required for plant growth comes from carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Even at the end of the service life of plant insulation oil, it is degraded by microorganisms. Except for the carbon emissions generated by intermediate transportation, it can be said that plant insulation oil originating from plants has achieved carbon neutrality from the beginning of its life cycle. Environmentally Friendly Properties
Using natural ester insulation oil per ton can reduce carbon emissions by 3.18 tons compared to mineral insulation oil. Based on an annual usage of 100000 tons of transformer insulation oil, if natural ester insulation oil is fully adopted, carbon emissions will be reduced by 318000 tons per year compared to mineral insulation oil.
